About the parsnip fries

It’s important to note that air-fried parsnip fries do not make crispy chips the way that traditional french fries do. They are fried until they achieve crispy edges but the insides of the parsnip fries will always be reasonably soft. To give them as much crispiness as possible, it’s best to serve them right away once they’re cooked.

The fries are coated in a little bit of smoked paprika and garlic powder for extra flavour. You could also add a little parmesan cheese near the end of the cooking, to add another flavor and texture.

These air fryer parsnip fries make a great alternative to potato fries and use much less oil than a deep fryer. The air fryer uses hot air to quickly cook the parsnip.

Lay the seasoned parsnips in the air fryer basket. Ideally, you want them in a single layer if possible, but don’t worry if they currently overlap. They will shrink as they cook.

Place the basket in the air fryer and cook at 400°F/200°C for 10-15 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking. The cooking time will depend on how big the parsnip fries were cut.

They should be golden brown and crispy on the edges.
